Open German-French-Polish Workshop Balloon&Media
Open means that participation is possible for all young people up to 26 years of age who live in Poland, France or Germany. Regardless of whether they are balloonists or belong to an organisation. The only requirement is interest in the topic, how to present ballooning in the media, how to produce meaningful articles, photos, films, audios and graphics. Even someone who has no skills in this area can ask the questions that will lead the way.
People with disabilities are welcome, and we try to make our projects inclusive and are happy to learn. If you see problems for you to participate, do not hesitate to contact us. We can only look for solutions if we know what needs to be solved.
The workshops are organised by Atelier de l'Aérostation, Hyfly and the Luftsportjugend of the DAeC and hosted by Ballaeron e.V. - and supported by the German-French Youth Office (DFJW).
(Remark: Based on an agreement between the German-Polish Youth Office (DPJW/PNWM) and the German-French Youth Office, German-French-Polish youth exchanges that take place in Germany are supported by the German-French Youth Office.
Those taking part in the online workshop do not have to attend the face-to-face workshop. Conversely, it is desirable for reasons of content. As the number of places is limited, the participants will be selected by the organising team if necessary.
There is no participation fee for the online workshop, for the face-to-face workshop the participation fee is EURO 150,00 and subventions for travel expenses according to the DFJW guidelines.
Registration for the online workshop is done by registering here for the Balloon&Media project on the DINA platform. The DINA interface is available in different languages, including Polish, French and German. You can choose your language.
In the workshops themselves we communicate in all the languages we can and with hands and feet. Nobody is perfect in a foreign language, but if there is a will, there is a way to communicate.
Online Workshop @dina.international
The workshop will start with an online kick-off meeting on Saturday 22 May 2021 at 2pm. At this meeting we would like to get to know each other and discuss the way forward. For our work, DINA offers us a number of tools for video conferencing and for networked work.
The final event will take place online on Saturday 28 September 2021.
And in between? We will decide that together.
The presence workshop will take place in Bitterfeld-Wolfen. The balloon launch site of the Bittefelder Verein e.V. there will serve us as both a launch site and a staging area. And Bitterfeld is only about two hundred kilometres from the Polish border. With westerly winds, we will even have the chance to fly with the balloon to Poland for a day trip, and show how a cross-border balloon flight is prepared and carried out.
During the workshop, the Gordon Bennett Race will take place in Toruń. Strictly speaking, it will not take place there, but will be started there. The Gordon Bennett Race is a long-distance competition for gas balloons and the oldest air sports competition ever. Gas balloons can stay in the air for up to four days and cover thousands of kilometres. The winner is the country whose team lands furthest away from Toruń. We will use the race as a thread for our workshop. More about the race at the following link: www.gordonbennett.aero.
Of course, the goal is also that we all experience ballooning in a gas balloon and in a hot air balloon, everyone has the opportunity to fly in both types of balloons once according to the weather conditions. The only special thing about the workshop is that we take more time to stage the balloons in order to create the most impressive photos and videos possible.
During the presence workshop we will of course also communicate with the participants of the online workshop.
You will find the detailed announcement on our project page at DINA from July. And before that there is already a list where you can sign up if you are interested in taking part.
